The month of November was spent talking about our 5 senses. We made chocolate pudding to finger paint with, using our taste and touch senses. We also did a taste test of different things such as lemons, oranges, M&M's, potatoes, sour patch kids, etc. The kids enjoyed using their taste sense to decide whether they were eating something sour, sweet or salty.
We also played a game using our sense of smell to decide what things smelled like. We discussed "good" smells and "bad" smells. We did a feely box where there were items in the box that the kids had to use their sense of touch and decide what texture it was that they felt. Later we created a texture collage with feathers, buttons, sandpaper, macaroni, cotton balls, etc. These were just a few of the senses we explored. Our favorite sense was obviously taste.
We also started making Christmas decorations for the classroom. We have had a busy November and are looking forward to December
